Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is the sixth-largest national park in Tanzania after Ruaha, Serengeti, Mikumi, Katavi, and Mkomazi. The national park is located in Manyara Region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park, being the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. During the dry season, thousands of animals migrate to the Tarangire National Park from Manyara National Park. The Tarangire River has shriveled to a shadow of its wet season self. But it is choked with wildlife. Thirsty nomads have wandered hundreds of parched kilometers knowing that here, always, there is water.
- All visitors should enter the park with a qualified and certified guide. Guides and potters have identification cards issued by the park management.
- Disposable plastic water bottles are not allowed in the park.
- Guides and potters are not allowed to carry luggage that exceeds 25KG. Weighing of luggage will be done at the gate on entry.
- All visitors are required to check-in and out of the park, this is done by recording personal information in the entry and exit books.
